Benefits of Chlorine Dioxide.
Chlorine dioxide is a gas used in very small quantities to disinfect water. It is a disinfectant similar to bleach and is unsafe when used in large amounts. Chlorine dioxide kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi and importantly leaves minimal to no detectable chemical residues in several food products.
Chlorine Dioxide can be produced by activating a stabilized ClO2 source with an acid or oxidizing agent. The stabilized Chlorine Dioxide is generated at a dilute rate before being injected into the process water at low concentrations.
